This weekend me and Henry went on a trip to Dieppe and Rouen, both in France. We took an overnight ferry with his parents from Newhaven. The sea was REALLY rough – nobody was sick but oh god it was an experience trying to sleep in a weird cabin being chucked around your little bed! The ferry arrived to Dieppe around 8am, luckily we didn’t sink or hit an iceberg… So it was on our way to the hotel! (Which FYI had Christmas decorations still up?!). 1 hour of napping later we drove to Rouen…
It was so rainy but Rouen is very pretty that it kind of didn’t matter! Everything was super French there which was lovely. Most of the shops were small independent ones – apart from a few more upmarket chains.
So many amazing food shops in France!
Lunch was some German (?!) sausages with amazing mustard…
And more rainy walking (plus dog spotting!)
With a spot of macaron buying of course!
And then in the car back to Dieppe for dinner, seafood and pizza!
What I wore in the photo above: Red coat – Warehouse, White Converse high tops – Office, Michael Kors – Large black Selma satchel – Net-a-porter (with an old River Island pom pom key chain), Topshop scarf.
It’s so awesome you can hop on a ferry and you’re in France! I would love to have that (I’m currently isolated on a big island known as Australia, haha). Beautiful photos :)
Thank you! At least Australia is lots of sun though so you don’t need to escape the rain as much as we do ;) x
I’ve never even heard of these places (my bad!!) but it looks beautiful! The cake shop looks adorable. Don’t know how you handled the ferry though, don’t think I could! x

Haha if I’m honest, neither had I until I was invited to go! The ferry was not so bad on the way back as the sea was calm but horrific on the way when it was choppy, wouldn’t recommend eeek!xx
